Budapest Dance Theatre - founded in 1991 by the Harangozó- and Jeszenszky-award winning choreographer and dance artist, Béla Földi, who is also a receiver of the Republic of Hungary’s Silver Cross of Merit and the winner of the Best Creator of the Season in 2017, as well as being a ‘For the Art of Dance Award’ winning dance educator - is one of the most prominent companies of Hungary’s contemporary dance scene.
The DEPO studio was established in 2011, as the studio theatre of Budapest Dance Theatre. Over the years it has developed into a buzzing, energetic, open community art space. A creative dance studio which provides a home for contemporary dance classes and international dance courses, as well as offering performances for both adults and children whilst visitors can obtain information about theatre performances.
The realisation of the professional programme of the Budapest Dance Theatre's children's performances in DEPO's studio theatre was supported by the Hungarian Academy of Arts in 2020.
